Tim heeft zijn uitslag van de CITO toets binnen: een score van 546 en daarmee kan hij naar het gymnasium. We zijn allemaal heel trots en blij en gaan vanavond wokken om er een speciale dag van te maken!
Tim got the results of his schooltest today. He scored 546 and is able to go to the school of choice (gymnasium) with this result. We are so proud and happy and we will celebrate this special day with a dinner in the restaurant of his choice.
Dit weekend ga ik naar Utrecht voor de workshops van Corinne en Céline. Ik verheug mij daar enorm op. Behalve mijn chalk-verslaving kom ik normaal niet verder dan een klodder verf op een stempel dus ik ben heel benieuwd wat deze super-getalenteerde dames mij gaan leren! Bovendien zal ik in elk geval Astrid, Monique , Nili en Danielle (my secret santa sister) "live" ontmoeten, gezellig!!
This weekend I'll go to Utrecht for the workshops of Corinne and Céline. I'm so looking forward to it. Besides my chalk-addiction I hardly use paint so I can't wait to find out what these super-talented ladies will teach me. And I'll meet Astrid, Monique, Nili and Danielle (my secret santa sister) in real live!! :)

De tijd...
De tijd vliegt weer voorbij.... dat is ook het nieuwe woord bij OLW. Met dat woord kan volgens mij iedereen wel aan de slag!
Times flies... and that is also the new word on the OLW blog. I think everybody can scrap that word!
Vorige week heb ik mijn 41e verjaardag gevierd. Gezellig! En ik ben flink verwend! Bovendien liggen er voor de rest van de winter genoeg boeken om te lezen. Heerlijk, het laatste boek dat ik nu gelezen heb is Duizend schitterende zonnen van Khaled Hosseini. Prachtig en erg, erg indrukwekkend.
Last week I celebrated my 41st birthday. I had a really nice day and was spoiled! And I have enough books which I can read this winter.
Vandaag ben ik begonnen aan De reunie van Simone van der Vlugt. En daarna is De overgave van Arthur Japin aan de beurt. Ik vind lezen zo fijn dat ik er altijd voor zorg dat er tenminste 1 ongelezen boek in mijn boekenkast staat. Op vakantie gaat er steevast een stapel mee in de koffer en de geur van een boek dat je voor de eerste keer openslaat, daar kan weinig tegen op!
I love reading so much that I always have at least one unread book at home. I take a lot of books with me when we go on vacation and I especially love the smell of a new book!

Op mijn werk is het nog steeds druk. Gelukkig krijg ik volgende week hulp en kan er hopelijk wat van de achterstand worden weggewerkt. Ik merk wel dat ik mij extra verheug op de weekenden. Even bijtanken.
Things at work are still extremely busy. I will finally get somebody to help me next week and I hope that it will help me with that enormous amount of work that is on my desk. I find myself looking forward to the weekends. Relaxing time!
De avond voor mijn verjaardag kregen we slecht nieuws. Bij mijn schoonzusje Yvonne is kanker in haar heup gevonden. Zij heeft borstkanker gehad en moet nu weer beginnen met een behandeling. Daarover zijn vandaag besprekingen geweest en morgen krijgt ze te horen of er meer uitzaaingen zijn gevonden en wat het behandelplan zal zijn. Afschuwelijk die onderzekerheid. Ik heb veel aan haar moeten denken en natuurlijk ook aan Peter en de kinderen. Bovendien heeft Adry, ook een schoonzusje, een beroerte gehad en is daardoor aan haar linkerzijde verlamd. Ze is zelfs blind aan haar linkeroog en de prognose op herstel is nihil. Ongelooflijk hoe je leven opeens totaal anders kan zijn!
The evening before my birthday we found out that our SIL Yvonne is having cancer again. She already had breastcancer so this is really a shock. Tomorrow she will hear what her treatment will be and if there are more disseminations (I´m not sure if this is the correct word). Our other SIL Adry had a stroke a few weeks ago and is paralysed on her left side. She even has no sight in her left eye anymore. It´s unbelievable how suddenly life can change!

7 jaar / 7 years and tagged
Vandaag zijn Tonie en ik 7 jaar niet getrouwd :)
Daarom heb ik deze lo voor de OLW uitdaging TRUST gemaakt. Na mijn scheiding vond ik het moeilijk om een nieuwe relatie te beginnen. Tonie heeft mij het vertrouwen in de liefde weer teruggegeven en dat vind ik nog steeds bijzonder!

I’m a little addicted to the blogs of Corinne and Birgit. Even if I have no time I do try to read the blogs of these inspiring girls. Also I need to peak at the Scrap-Club blog and gallery and the blogs of the DT girls to see what is new. I love 2peas. And when I have a lot of time I just surf around and be surprised to find so much inspiration around the world.
Challenge faves:
That has to be OLW. They make me create layouts I wouldn’t have made otherwise. What I like about this site is that you have two weeks time for the challenge. I also love the inspiration of Pencil Lines but I never seem to complete a sketch before the end of the week…. And the monthly sketches provided by Basic Grey are very inspiring to me too.
Guilty pleasures:
Chocolate...! Milk or white, no pure please…. And scrapping and reading when I really should do something else.... like housekeeping.
Babysitting faves:
My boys love it when grandma and grandpa come over to babysit them, they consider that as a big party!

Valentijnsdag/ Valentines day
Wij doen niet zo heel veel aan Valentijnsdag. Maar een kaartje naar de familie wordt wel verstuurd. Bovendien krijgen opa en oma een mooie bos bloemen op deze dag. Thomas had veel plezier toen hij ontdekte dat oma precies dezelfde kaart had uitgezocht voor hem als hij voor haar!
De kaarten van mijn ouders en broer, schoonzusjes en neefjes waren hartstikke leuk en op tijd: ik had ze op de ontbijtborden gelegd. Een leuk begin van de dag. Tonie had onze drinkbekers gevuld met hartjes :) en dat viel bij de jongens erg in de smaak!
We don't really celebrate Valentines Day but we do send cards to our family. And grandpa and grandma get flowers. Thomas had fun when he found out that grandma had sent the same card to him as he to her. Tonie filled our mugs with candy hearts which the boys really liked ;)

Trouwen-Marriage ;)
Toen ik gisteren met Thomas naar huis reed zagen we een vrachtwagen met aanhanger. Daarop stond een wit koetsje. Zo'n Assepoester geval. Thomas vroeg zich af wat het was en ik vertelde hem dat je zo'n koetsje met paarden kan huren als je op een hele romantische manier wilt trouwen. Wil jij later ook trouwen, vroeg ik aan hem. Hij keek mij lachend aan en zei: Ik blijf gewoon bij jou mama! Lief toch!
Yesterday I drove home with Thomas when we saw a white (Cinderella) carriage on a truck. I explained to Thomas that it is possible to rent such a carriage when you want romantic transportation on your weddingday. Then I asked him if he would like to get married someday. He looked at me and said with a smile: I just stay with you mama! My sweetie!
